MATCH DETAILS - ISL : FC Goa kept pace with their rivals for a top-four spot with a clinical 3-1 victory over Odisha FC at the Fatorda Stadium in the Hero Indian Super League, here on Wednesday.

17/02/2021 (ISL : MATCH-97) : FC GOA - <b><font color=red> 3-1 </b></font> - ODISHA FC

Goals from Alberto Noguera (18') and Jorge Ortiz (26') gave Goa an early lead to the Gaurs before Diego Mauricio (30') pulled one back for Odisha. Ivan Gonzalez (75') then put the result beyond doubt. The victory pushed Goa up to fourth with 27 points, same as Hyderabad FC in third and one point ahead of NorthEast United in fifth. The result also knocks out SC East Bengal from a mathematical chance at the playoffs.

Goa’s first goal was an exemplary display of team effort. A clever through ball from midfield set Gonzalez free down the left and his curling cross was headed in past Odisha keeper Arshdeep Singh by the onrushing Noguera.

Daniel Lalhlimpuia wasted a chance to bring Odisha back on an even keel, and they soon paid for that missed opportunity. Eight minutes after they had taken the lead, Goa went two up through a blistering counter-attack. The move started off an Odisha corner that Goa keeper Dheeraj Singh punched out of the box. The ball found its way to Saviour Gama, who found the run of Ortiz with a pinpoint pass. Ortiz was in behind the Odisha defence and beat the onrushing Arshdeep with a wonderful chip.

At that stage, it looked like Goa was going to run away with the match, but Odisha changed the complexion of the game yet again by grabbing a goal back, just minutes after they had conceded. A cross from Rakesh Pradhan on the left eluded Dheeraj and was headed in by Mauricio at the far post.

There was a chance towards the end of the half when Goa was awarded a freekick at the edge of the box, which came to nothing. The second half saw end-to-end action with both teams going in search of a goal. While Goa had the better chances, Odisha still had opportunities to find an equaliser. The best of these chances fell to Mauricio, who received the ball inches away from the near post. However, he went for an audacious back-heel finish and failed to connect properly.

They soon paid for the wasted chances when Goa found a third. The goal was once again down to some poor defending by Odisha. They failed to deal properly with a corner, after Arshdeep had saved Gonzalez's header, and allowed the Spaniard to poke the loose ball home.

MATCH REPORT - ISL : NorthEast United took advantage of both their rivals for the top-four spot — FC Goa and Hyderabad FC — dropping points, with a convincing 3-1 victory over Odisha FC in the Hero Indian Super League at the Tilak Maidan Stadium here on Sunday. Goals from Luis Machado (9', 24') and Deshorn Brown (19') moved the Highlanders to third and two points clear of both Hyderabad and Goa. With the latter two teams taking on each other in their final game, NorthEast are now heavy favourites to grab a playoff spot. Bradden Inman (45') netted a consolation for Odisha.

14/02/2021 (ISL: M-93) : NORTH EAST UNITED - <b><font color=red> 3-1 </b></font> - ODISHA FC

NEUFC started the game at a furious pace and only needed nine minutes to come up with the first goal. Ashutosh Mehta found Machado with an accurate cross and the latter hit it first time past a diving Arshdeep Singh. It was no less than what NorthEast United deserved given the attack intent they showed in the first period of the match.

A second came ten minutes later through Brown. Federico Gallego entered the Odisha half with the ball and threaded through a pass for the new recruit, who had been enjoying a fruitful stint since his arrival from Bengaluru FC. The Jamaican slotted home with a sublime finish.Another five minutes later, NEUFC had their third goal, Gallego again at the centre of things. He spotted Machado making a run into the box and found him with an accurate looping ball. Machado made no mistake and headed the ball past the onrushing Arshdeep. There seemed to be no way back for Odisha from there.

But they did manage to get back into the game in stoppage time just before the first-half whistle. New signing Inman, who has impressed since arriving from ATK Mohun Bagan, received the ball from Daniel Lalhlimpuia and attempted a finish from a narrow angle. His shoot took a heavy deflection off NEUFC defender Mashoor Shereef and went in.

The goal injected new life into what had been a poor first half from Odisha and they signalled their intention to go looking for more goals by throwing on Diego Mauricio at halftime. But it was their opponents, who kept creating chances. Machado had a chance early in the second half but his shot was wide. Then, in the 62nd minute, Arshdeep had to pull off a fantastic double save as he denied both Gallego and Machado.

There was some late drama as Gurjinder Kumar was sent off for a second yellow, putting NEUFC at a numerical disadvantage. Immediately after that, Brown missed a golden opportunity to put the result beyond doubt as his shot from a one-on-one position was straight at Arshdeep.Odisha kept applying pressure till the end, but the NorthEast defence stood firm as they took their team to victory and three points.

MATCH REPORT-ISL : Kerala Blasters FC once again squandered a winning position, playing out a third successive draw after being held 2-2 by Odisha FC in the Hero Indian Super League at the Fatorda Stadium on Thursday. Odisha's Diego Mauricio (45', 74') netted a brace while Jordan Murray (52) and Gary Hooper (68') were on the scoresheet for Kerala.

11/02/2021 (ISL : Match 90) : ODISHA FC - <b><font color=red> 2-2 </b></font> - KERALA BLASTERS

Kerala desperately needed a win to revive their playoff hopes but couldn't find a way past Odisha, a side they are yet to beat. The result meant ninth-placed Kerala are now level on points with SC East Bengal, who have a game in hand. Odisha headed into the break with their noses in front after punishing Kerala for a defensive error. Kerala started bright and saw more of the ball in the opening half but failed to create clear-cut chances.

After dominating possession in the first quarter, Kerala missed a gilt-edged opportunity to grab the lead in the 31st minute. Sahal Abdul Samad intercepted Steven Taylor's misplaced pass and found Gary Hooper in the box. The Australian beat Jacob Tratt with his first touch but his shot missed the frame by inches.

Minutes later, Kerala failed to capitalize on another defensive mistake from Odisha. Arshdeep Singh was at fault this time as he played the ball to Hooper right outside the box. The Australian squared the ball towards Juande whose first-time shot sailed over the bar.

Those missed chances would cost Kerala as Odisha scored against the run of play. Jerry Mawihmingthanga's lob found Mauricio in the box, and he held off two markers before finding the back of the net.Kerala came out strong after the break and it didn't take them long to find the equaliser. Hooper saw off Tratt and skipped past Arshdeep, before squaring the ball for Murray, who got ahead of Sajid Dhot and blasted his shot into the net.

Kerala's intent in the second half would bear fruit as they would take the lead for the first time in the game.Vicente Gomez played a long ball to Sahal, who controlled the ball and picked out Murray with a reverse pass. The Englishman kept his calm and slotted past Arshdeep with ease.

But just when it seemed like Kerala were on the up, they would end up conceding again. Bradden Inman whipped a cross at the far post for Mauricio who scored a simple tap-in to draw Odisha level. Both sides went all out in the dying stages in hopes of finding the winner. However, the goalkeepers of both teams came up with some stunning saves to keep the scoreline level.

01/02/2021 (ISL: M-79) : ODISHA FC - <b><font color=red> 0-1 </b></font> -JAMSHEDPUR FC

MATCH REPORT : Jamshedpur FC recorded a morale-boosting 1-0 win against Odisha FC in the Hero Indian Super League at the GMC Stadium, Bambolim, on Monday. Mohammad Mobashir Rahman scored a 41st-minute goal which proved to be the difference between the two sides, ending JFC’s five-game winless streak and keeping their playoff hopes alive.

Stuart Baxter made two changes from Odisha’s 1-1 draw against Bengaluru, handing a start to Bradden Inman who had joined on loan from ATK Mohun Bagan. Paul Ramfangzauva was the other change in the playing XI. For Jamshedpur, center-back Peter Hartley returned from injury and Mobashir replaced Aitor Monroy.

Arshdeep Singh has been having an excellent campaign this year for Odisha and the custodian was called into action early on. Seiminlen Doungel dispossessed Rakesh Pradhan and, on entering the penalty area, forced a save from Singh.

01/02/2021 (ISL: M-79) : ODISHA FC - <b><font color=red> 0-1 </b></font> -JAMSHEDPUR FC

Odisha should have scored in what would have been a well-worked team goal. Ramfangzauva set Jerry Mawihmingthanga through in the Jamshedpur penalty area, and the latter beat a market before losing possession to Narender Gahlot. The ball rolled towards Manuel Onwu, who fumbled in front of the goal, before being cleared out for a corner.

The Jamshedpur defenders were at their best despite being under a lot of pressure. Stephen Eze and Hartley managed to thwart the danger posed by their opponents. Going forward, their attack looked dangerous too. Doungel was impressive for JFC and may have finally found a place that could get the best out of him. He nearly assisted a goal at the half-hour mark but Farukh Choudhary struck over the bar.

JFC finally broke the deadlock in the 41st minute through Mobashir. The youngster put in a cross for Nerijus Valskis, whose movement in the box confused Singh, and the ball went straight into the goal. The Odisha keeper should have done better.

Doungel continued to trouble the Odisha defense after the restart. After getting the ball on the flank, he cut inside and tested Singh, who pushed the ball out for a corner. But JFC failed to take advantage of the resulting corner. Singh was called into action once again when Alexandre Lima tried his luck from a distance only to see his effort saved.

OFC kept attacking but poor passing in the final third saw them lose possession and hardly test the keeper. At the other end, Singh kept his side in the game with yet another save to deny Choudhary. Odisha had a late penalty claim when Diego Mauricio was tripped in the area by TP Rehenesh, but the referee turned down the appeal.

MATCH REPORT - ISL : In a match that witnessed plenty of chances, it was left to some lacklustre finishing by Odisha and an 82nd-minute equalizer by Erik Paartalu, to hand Bengaluru FC a thrilling 1-1 draw against Odisha FC to in the Hero Indian Super League at the Fatorda Stadium, on Sunday.

24/01/21 (ISL : M-70)</b> : BENGALURU FC - <b><font color=red> 1-1 </b></font> - ODISHA FC

It also turned out to be a battle of goalkeepers on the night, with both posts guarded solidly against relentless press by each side. The Kalinga Warriors had taken an eighth-minute lead through Diego Mauricio and looked to have earned their second win of the season but despite Arshdeep Singh’s heroics in goal, a determined BFC finally managed to get an equaliser late in the game. BFC interim coach Naushad Moosa made no changes to the side that lost against Kerala Blasters while Odisha made one change with Steven Taylor returning to the starting XI after serving his one-match suspension.

Bengaluru had a bright start at Fatorda, but were stunned by an early goal from Mauricio which came against the run of play. Jerry Mawihmingthanga took a quick free-kick to Manuel Onwu on the right just outside the BFC penalty area and the latter played a superb low cross into the middle. Mauricio, who was in the box, scored to put his side ahead. Moosa’s men came very close to scoring when Udanta Singh flashed a cross across the face of goal, but the pass was too quick for an onrushing Sunil Chhetri.

Another chance went begging for BFC when Amay Morajkar floated a cross in for Rahul Bheke but his header missed the mark. BFC created chance after chance but were let down not only by their sloppy finishing but were also thwarted by Arshdeep's brilliance in goal. One of his best saves came when Taylor failed to clear Bheke’s long throw-in and Erik Paartalu latched on to the loose ball and struck from the edge of the box. Arshdeep dived acrobatically to make a one-handed save. The keeper pulled off yet another save to deny Bheke, who tried to divert in a Cleiton Silva corner.

In the second half, Arshdeep continued from where he left off as he came with a fine save. This time the custodian stopped Kristian Opseth's free-kick with a diving save. He then came up with an acrobatic save to stop Gaurav Bora’s header from going into his own goal.

After constant pressure, Bengaluru were finally rewarded with the equaliser in the 82nd minute when Paartalu nodded in Cleiton's in-swinging corner. Right after the goal, Odisha missed an opportunity to regain their lead when Mauricio set up Daniel Lalhlimpuia in the box, but his shot clipped the upright. At the other end, Chhetri blasted his shot over the crossbar from close range. Gurpreet made a stunning save late in the game to keep out Jerry's close-range attempt.

MATCH REPORT - ISL : Odisha FC displayed great character in the second half as they fought back to hold Hyderabad FC to a 1-1 draw in the Hero Indian Super League at the Fatorda Stadium, on Tuesday. Halicharan Narzary (13') put Hyderabad up ahead at the break but saw his header cancelled out after a fine strike from Odisha's Cole Alexander (51').

19/01/ 21 (ISL M-64) :: HYDERABAD FC --(<b><font color=red> 1-1 </b></font>) -- ODISHA FC

In 11th minute when a mistake from keeper Arshdeep Singh almost gifted Hyderabad the lead. Asish Rai drilled a low cross into the box which was spilled by Arshdeep, and fell straight into the path of Narzary. The forward unleashed a shot but Jacob Tratt saved Odisha the blushes with a crucial block.

However, just two minutes later, Hyderabad would go on to break the deadlock. After receiving a long ball from keeper Laxmikant Kattimani, Aridane Santana flicked it on towards Liston Colaco, who made a run in the box. The youngster squared it towards Narzary, who notched his fourth goal of the season with an easy tap-in.

The Nizams had a golden opportunity to double their tally in the first-half but were denied by the woodwork. Colaco was involved in the move again, playing the ball to Aridane, who found Narzary on the left. The goal-scorer cut inside and fired a shot towards the bottom corner, which unfortunately came off the upright before being cleared out.

It didn't take long for Odisha to draw level as they scored from a set-piece against the run of play soon after the break. Rakesh Pradhan found Diego Mauricio from a throw-in, and he played the ball towards Alexander. The Odisha captain struck on the volley from outside the box, as Kattimani stood still, watching the ball head into the bottom corner.

Stuart Baxter's side should have taken the lead late in the 74th minute but Akash Mishra came to Hyderabad's rescue. Mauricio made his way into the box after beating his marker before flicking a shot over Kattimani. However, his goal-bound effort was cleared by Mishra, whose clearance struck the underside of the bar before heading out.

MATCH REPORT - ISL : Their first clash in this season's Hero Indian Super League on Sunday may have ended in a goalless draw, but Chennaiyin FC's encounter against Odisha FC at the GMC Stadium on Wednesday wasn't short of goals.

After struggling for goals all season, Csaba Laszlo's men turned on the style against Odisha, scoring two in the opening quarter of the game. Portuguese forward Esmael Goncalves opened the scoring in the 15th minute, before putting Chennaiyin two-up by converting a penalty in the 21st minute. However, a Diego Mauricio screamer in the 64h minute gave Odisha hope but Chennaiyin held on for a 2-1 win, which lifted them all the way to fifth place.

13.01.21 ( ISL : M-57) : ODISHA FC <b> <font color=red> 1-2 </b></font> CHENNAIYIN FC

Goncalves had the chance to put his team ahead in the fifth minute when he got in behind the Odisha defence, but with only keeper Arshdeep Singh to beat, he blasted his chance over. However, he made amends for that ten minutes later with a well-taken goal. Gaurav Bora failed to deal with a long ball from Rahim Ali and it fell towards Goncalves, who did not make a mistake this time.

Before Odisha had the chance to react to going behind, Chennaiyin doubled their lead. Bora was again at fault, hacking down Anirudh Thapa in the box. Goncalves stepped up to take the spot-kick and sent Arshdeep the wrong way. Chennaiyin defended well after securing a comfortable lead as Odisha struggled to fashion clear-cut chances. The closest they got in the first half was in the 37th minute when Manuel Onwu found himself with the ball at his feet and a sight on goal, but his shot was wide.

With a couple of early inroads into the Odisha box, Chennaiyin looked the team likelier to score. However, Mauricio, who replaced Marcelo Pereira at halftime, had other plans as he pulled one back for his team in spectacular fashion with a long-range curler. Chennaiyin had a great opportunity to restore their lead late on when Lallianzuala Chhangte, after an excellent run, squared the ball to substitute Thoi Singh. However, the veteran, despite only having the keeper to beat, failed to get his shot on target.

Odisha almost took advantage of this in the 85th minute when Daniel Lalhlimpuia managed to get a shot in from just outside the box. However, keeper Vishal Kaith pulled off an excellent diving save. Odisha piled on the pressure in the closing minutes but were unable to find the equaliser.

MATCH REPORT - ISL : In what was a cagey affair with both teams missing accuracy, Odisha FC and Chennaiyin FC played out a goalless draw at the GMC Stadium here on Sunday.

The game, which essentially served as the first leg of a double-header as both teams will meet again on Wednesday, saw both teams failing to convert clear-cut chances. That Odisha had only three shots on target while Chennaiyin managed just two (of the twelve shots they took) exemplified how much both sides cancelled out each other. Chennaiyin, the better side in terms of possession, though had a couple of chances to get a winner but their forwards were unable to net them.

10.01.21 ( ISL : M-53) : CHENNAIYIN FC - <b> <font color=red> 0-0 </b></font> - ODISHA FC

It was Chennaiyin who dominated the opening exchanges, creating multiple chances in the opening quarter. They had their first big chance during the second minute, but Rahim Ali failed to put his team up ahead. A long ball found him through on goal with only Odisha keeper Arshdeep Singh to beat. But his final touch was too heavy and allowed Arshdeep to come out and smother the ball.

In the 14th minute, Lallianzuala Chhangte received the ball from Anirudh Thapa and drilled in a low shot, but it only struck the side netting. The first half got increasingly aggressive with both teams committing a number of fouls. Chennaiyin earned two yellow cards for their efforts, Enes Sipovic and Jerry Lalrinzuala going into the referee book.

Odisha thought they had the lead as the half drew to a close. Diego Mauricio headed in a cross from Cole Alexander, only for the linesman to signal for offside. Then, with what was one of the last kicks of the half, Jakub Sylvestr had a great chance to find the opening goal. Reagan Singh found him in the box and Sylvestr was able to direct it towards the post, only for Arshdeep to pull off another vital save. The Odisha keeper was in top form throughout the first half and was a major reason why both teams went in goalless at the break.

The second half started with Chhangte getting in behind the Odisha defence yet again and finding the side netting for the second time. In the 71st minute, Ali wasted another great chance. A mistake by Steven Taylor left the youngster with only Arshdeep to beat again. This time he managed to do that but struck his shot against the post. The last ten minutes of the game was mostly played out in Odisha's half as Chennaiyin pushed for a winner. However, the Odisha defence stood firm and the match finished goalless.

MATCH REPORT - ISL : Odisha FC got the monkey off their back as they cruised to their first win of the season with a 4-2 victory over Kerala Blasters in the Hero Indian Super League at the GMC Stadium, here on Thursday.

07/01/21 : (ISL : M-50) : KERALA BLASTERS -- <b><font color=red> 2-4 </b></font> - ODISHA FC

Kerala drew first blood through Jordan Murray (7') but Odisha took the lead in the first half itself through an own goal from Jeakson Singh (22') and a strike from Steven Taylor (42'). Diego Mauricio's second-half brace (50', 60') then settled the tie in favor of Odisha. Gary Hooper (79') scored a consolation for Kerala, but it proved to be not enough to spark a comeback.

It was Odisha who started better, enforcing a corner in the third minute but Kerala scored the opener much against the run of play. KP Rahul headed Facundo Pereyra's freekick at goal and a diving Arshdeep Singh could only parry it straight into Murray's path. The latter made no mistake from a tight angle.

Odisha struck back 15 minutes later in somewhat fortuitous fashion. Jerry Mawihmingthanga found Mauricio on the right and his shot took a heavy deflection off Jeakson before trickling past a wrong-footed Albino Gomes.

Vicente Gomez almost came up with an instant equaliser as he headed in Pereyra's cross, but it was straight at Arshdeep. Kerala would rue the misses soon with Taylor taking advantage of some poor defending to give Odisha the lead just before halftime. Jerry's cross found Taylor unmarked at the far post and the English defender calmly slotted in.

Jerry missed a good chance straight after the restart, but Mauricio would soon ensure that his miss went unpunished. First, he scored Odisha's third after Jerry's lob found him clear on goal. Ten minutes later, he scored a spectacular goal to put the result beyond doubt. The Brazilian received the ball from Nandhakumar Sekhar and beat a defender before curling it past the keeper from outside the box.

Kerala would have a glimmer of hope in the 79th minute when Gary Hooper netted their second. Jordan Murray did well to put the ball in the box and found Hooper, who slashed at goal. His shot took a deflection off Taylor before going in.

The goal inspired the previously-downbeat Kerala players as they launched assault after assault on the Odisha goal. However, the Odisha defence stood firm as their coach Stuart Baxter celebrated his first win of the season at the final whistle.

DETAILS - ISL : It could have been another defeat but Odisha FC clawed back a point despite taking the lead early against NorthEast United, drawing 2-2 in a Hero Indian Super League game at the GMC Stadium, here on Tuesday.

Odisha took the lead through Diego Mauricio (26’) before Benjamin Lambot (45+1’) drew parity. Kwesi Appiah (65’) then converted a penalty to put the Highlanders ahead but soon saw his goal canceled out by Cole Alexander (67’).

But the Brazilian redeemed himself with a wonder-strike to hand his side the lead. Mauricio, receiving the ball from outside the box, cut inside before drilling a low shot that trickled into the back of the net. The ball went in following a light deflection off Lalengmawia, leaving the keeper with no chance.

NorthEast piled on the pressure after conceding and missed three chances from set-pieces. However, a lapse in concentration from Odisha in stoppage time saw them concede. Lambot made a run at the far post and picked up Ashutosh Mehra’s cross before heading home.

Nus’ side began the second half from where they left off and deservedly took the lead. They won a penalty after Appiah was tripped in the box by Arshdeep. The Ghanian stepped up to take the spot-kick and struck it with venom to notch his third ISL goal.Their lead didn’t last long as Alexander equalised for Odisha by beautifully curling his shot at the far post.NorthEast nearly scored the winner in the dying minutes but substitute Khassa Camara’s long-range strike missed the crossbar by inches.

ISL REPORT : Bengaluru FC piled on further misery on Odisha FC with a 2-1 win in the Hero Indian Super League at GMC Stadium, Bambolim, on Thursday. Cleiton Silva (79’) scored the match-winner for Bengaluru after Steven Taylor (71’) had canceled out Sunil Chhetri (38’) first-half lead for the Blues, who remained unbeaten in their six matches this season.

Bengaluru were dominant from the start but were lucky not to fall behind early in the game. Diego Mauricio played a delightful through ball for Manuel Onwu, who managed to get the ball past Gurpreet, but his celebrations were curtailed, as the assistant referee signaled it offside.

17.12.20 : (ISL MATCH : 31) ODISHA FC (<b><font color=red> 1-2 </b></font> ) BENGALURU FC

Odisha had their moments in the game with Onwu and Jerry Mawihmingthanga creating problems for the Bengaluru defense but failed to test their keeper. They failed to record a single shot on target in the first session. Bengaluru dominated with 58 percent possession in the first half but despite playing an attacking game, they struggled to get the ball past the Odisha defence line. They had their chance but Ashique Kuruniyan, who had a good sight at goal, shot wide.

Bengaluru finally got the breakthrough in the 38th minute and it was their skipper Sunil Chhetri who got the much-needed goal. Dimas Delgado found Harmanjot Khabra who routed the attack from the right and floated a perfect cross into the box. Chhetri leapt higher than Shubham Sarangi and headed home. The goal made him the first Indian player to record 50 goal contributions in the Hero ISL — 42 goals and 8 assists.

The home team came back stronger after the restart in search of an equalizer. They nearly scored when Sarangi bent in a delivery into the box, which fell into Gaurav Bora’s path. The defender’s shot took a deflection off a Bengaluru player forcing keeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu to dive at full length to push the ball away. Bengaluru nearly doubled their lead when Erik Paartalu's shot was brilliantly saved by Arshdeep Singh.

At the other end, Odisha made it all square from a set-piece. Skipper Steven Taylor made a fine run to reach the end of Jerry’s free-kick and nodded in the equalizer. But the visitors were determined to regain their lead and were successful in the 79th minute. On receiving a long ball, Udanta Singh headed in for Deshorn Brown in the box. The latter played it into Silva’s path. The Brazilian did not miss from close range.

Odisha went all out looking for an equalizer and this exposed them at the back. Bengaluru nearly exploited this in stoppage time, but Arshdeep was on hand to save Brown's effort.

ISL REPORT : A second successive win helped FC Goa climb to fourth on the Hero Indian Super League Season 7 table as they beat a gritty Odisha FC 1-0 at the GMC Stadium, here on Saturday. Igor Angulo (45+1’) netted the winner to help Juan Ferrando’s side register another victory. Arshdeep Singh shone for Odisha between the sticks but their inefficiency upfront meant Stuart Baxter’s side remained winless in the competition.

12/12/2020 : (ISL: M-25) ODISHA FC -- <b><font color=red> 0-1 </b></font> -- FC GOA

Vinit Rai was handed his first start of the season as Odisha made four changes to their line-up. Ferrando rang in just one change as Alberto Noguera replaced Edu Bedia. Goa outplayed their opponents in the first half and headed into the break with a one-goal lead, Angulo scoring in injury time.

The Gaurs dominated proceedings from the start while Odisha decided to stay compact and absorb the pressure. Jorge Ortiz Mendoza, a constant threat on the left flank, had an opportunity to give Goa the lead during the 16th minute. Brandon Fernandes won the ball and threaded a pass for Ortiz on the left. The forward cut inside into acres of space but dragged his shot wide. However, despite dominating possession, the Gaurs failed to penetrate the Odisha defence, who kept things tight at the back. Odisha, too applied pressure on Goa’s backline towards the end of the first half, mainly through Diego Mauricio but Goa’s backline did well to thwart the danger.

Goa’s perseverance finally paid off towards the end of the first half with Angulo getting himself on the scoresheet again. Romario beat his marker on the left and found the Spaniard in the box, who created space to fool Jacob Tratt before drilling his shot into the bottom left-handed corner. The second half got off to an interesting start with both sides showing intent. Odisha pushed hard for an equaliser and nearly came close just before the hour mark. After a counter-attack, the ball fell to Cole Alexander, at the edge of the box. The midfielder, however, fired his shot wide.

The Gaurs fashioned two clear-cut opportunities during the 64th minute but Arshdeep produced a stunning double save to keep his side in the game. The Odisha custodian first blocked a shot from Angulo with his leg. The ball was eventually cleared and fell to Princeton Rebello. The substitute found Mendoza outside the box but the latter was denied as Arshdeep dived full stretch. The Odisha FC keeper produced another double save during the dying minutes of the game, denying both Mendoza and Len Doungel.

MATCH DETAILS : Mumbai City FC continued their impressive start to the Hero Indian Super League Season 7 with a 2-0 victory over Odisha FC at the GMC Stadium, Bambolim here on Sunday.

A penalty from Batholomew Ogbeche (30') and a header from Rowllin Borges (45') gave Sergio Lobera's men their third win in four games and their first-win ever over Odisha in the league. The win sent them top of the table, level on points with ATK Mohun Bagan, albeit with a better goal difference. For their opponents, this was their third loss in four games and only point-less SC East Bengal lie below Stuart Baxter's side.

In 3oth minutes, Mumbai had their goal. Vignesh Dakshina Murthy's attempted cross from the edge of the box struck Shubham Sarangi's hand and the referee promptly pointed to the spot. Ogbeche stepped up and fired a low shot to the left, which a diving Kamaljit could not get his fingers to. It was the third penalty Odisha had conceded this season and the second mistake that Sarangi had committed, which had led to a goal.

Hugo Boumous missed a great chance to score in the 43rd minute, firing wide from Bipin Singh's pass. But Mumbai had their second a couple of minutes later. Bipin, again, fired in a great cross into the box which Borges headed past Kumar.

REPORT- ISL : Jamshedpur FC's Hero Indian Super League game against Odisha FC was a game of two halves and two strikers. At the Tilak Maidan on Sunday, Jamshedpur's Nerijus Valskis dominated the first scoring twice (12', 27') and putting his team in a commanding position. Odisha's Diego Mauricio though grabbed headlines in the second, pulling one back in the 77th minute before driving home a stunning injury-time equaliser, to wrap up a thrilling 2-2 draw.

29.11.2020 : (ISL: M-10) :JAMSHEDPUR FC -- ( <b><font color=red> 2-2 </b></font> ) -- ODISHA FC

It did not take long for Owen Coyle's men to break the deadlock. Barely ten minutes in, Odisha goalkeeper Kamaljit Singh failed to deal with a cross and a goalmouth scramble ensued. It ended with Valskis turning and shooting at goal from close range, only for it to strike Odisha defender Gaurav Bora's hand. Referee Pratik Mondal promptly pointed to the spot and Valskis powered in the resulting penalty.

The game cooled down after the goal with both teams struggling to create chances. But it was Valskis again who shook it out of its stupor. And yet again, it was an Odisha defensive mistake that led to it. Around the half-hour mark, defender Shubham Sarangi leapt to clear a cross, but only succeeded in diverting it into Valskis' path. The Lithuanian still had it all to do — he was at a difficult angle to goal and had only a narrow path to it between the goalkeeper and the post. But he still managed to squeeze it in with a powerful drive.

Odisha did fashion the occasional attack with Marcelinho, in particular, remaining a threatening presence throughout the first half. But they struggled to create clear-cut chances. Odisha came alive in the second half with striker Manuel Onwu going close on a couple of occasions. In the 53rd minute, the Spaniard cut into the box before taking a shot. His effort though went wide. Then in the 60th, his acrobatic shot was well-saved by Jamshedpur keeper TP Rehenesh. The latter had more work to do from the resulting corner, palming a close-range shot over the bar.

There was more drama as Rehenesh got sent off in the 74th minute for handling the ball outside the penalty area. Substitute Mauricio struck the resulting freekick against the post, but the ball soon found its way back to him and he was able to bundle it in. With ten-men Jamshedpur defending doggedly, it appeared as if Odisha were running out of time. However, Mauricio had other ideas. In stoppage time, the Brazilian unleashed a powerful shot from just inside the box that no goalkeeper would have saved.
