Gokulam Kerala FC have completed the signing of Saliou Guindo, a Malian forward for the upcoming I-League season. The 24-year-old forward is the final foreign signing of Malabarians.

The forward has played leagues in Turkey, Tunisia, Cote d’Ivoire, Albania and Bahrain. He has played for Mali Under-20 team that finished third in the FIFA World Cup held in 2015. His best performance is in Albanian league, where he has scored 11 goals in the 2019-20 season.

“I am glad to sign for Gokulam Kerala FC. I have taken part in a training session already and the squad is full of young and vibrant players. I am ready to work hard and make sure that we bring the trophy back home,” said Saliou.

“Saliou is a quality striker. He has the skills to score with right and left foot. He is very fast. He has 11 goals in Albanian league, which is a top-level league. He has also played for Mali national team. He is young and he has the quality to become top scorer in India,” said GKFC head coach Vincenzo Alberto Annese.

22.11.20: Neroca FC signed Nathaniel Garcia as their 2nd foreign recruit for this coming season. 27 year old Trinidad & Tobago midfielder Garcia played for Gokulam Kerala FC last season.
During his time with Gokulam Kerala FC, he won Durand Cup. He also played for Gokulam Kerala FC in I-League and Sheikh Kamal International Cup at Bangladesh. He played 22 matches where he scored 5 goals in last season.
He have a fine last season when he played brilliantly during Durand Cup to win club's first National Level Trophy. During I-League he was also man of the match several times, one of his notifiable match was on March when 9-man Gokulam Kerala FC hold East Bengal and he was elected as the man of the match.

GKFC PRESS RELEASE - 21.11.20: Gokulam Kerala FC have appointed Mihir Sawant as goalkeeping coach for the upcoming I-League season.
Mihir is an AFC Level-3 license holder and was a former I-League goalkeeper. As a player, he has played for Dempo SC, Vasco and Mohemmadans SC. The 33-year-old coach is based at Pune and has coached Jamshedpur FC (reserve team), Churchill Brothers and Fateh Hyderabad FC. He is the youngest goalkeeper coach in I-League and the youngest to hold the Level-3 goalkeeping coaching license.
“It is a great pleasure to come down to Kerala, where people carry the sport in their heart. I believe this is a great opportunity for me to work for Malabarians. I have already attended training sessions and everything is going extremely well. We have already set our targets and that is to win ILeauge and IFA Shield,” said Mihir.

GKFC PRESS RELEASE - 20.11.20: Gokulam Kerala FC have signed former Ghanaian national team player Mohammed Awal for the upcoming season. The 32-year-old defender is the third foreign signing of Malabarians this season.
Mohammed Awal has played for Ghana's national team in the Africa Cup of Nations and he was there in the Ghana World Cup qualification squad. He has also played friendly international matches for Ghana.
He has experience in playing for top clubs in Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, and Morocco. A product of Feyenoord academy in Ghana, he went on to play for Fetteh Feyenoord in the Ghanaian premier league. Later he was scouted by South African club ASEC Mimosas to play in the South African league.
He has played for Raja Casablanca, the famous Moroccan club, and also had stints in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia. His major break came in the year 2013 when he received national team call-up for a friendly against Tunisia. He debuted for Ghana in that match.
Later he played for the Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup qualifiers for his national team.
“I have heard a lot about football in India and I am happy that I will be able to play there. We want to win the I-League this season. I know that Gokulam have started training. I am waiting patiently to join them,” said Mohammed Awal.
“Awal is a quality player from the national team of Ghana. He is strong in defending, good at high balls, and can start attack from the back. His main strength is his experience playing for several top clubs in Africa and Asia. He is strong and reliable. We wish him the best for the upcoming season,” said GKFC head coach Vincenzo Alberto Annese.

MOHAMMEDAN SPORTING SIGNED CRISPIN CHETTRI AS ASSISTANT COACH


17.11.20: Mohammedan Sporting today announced AFC "A" coaching license holder Crispin Chettri of Kurseong subdivision of Darjeeling District as the assistant coach before upcoming I League Season. Crispin will work under Spanish coach Head Coach Jose Hevia.

He represented India in the Asian Youth Championship 1999 in Sri Lanka. Former Midfielder Crispin also played for Pune FC, Mohun Bagan, Prayag United, Tollygunge Agragami. He was the Coach of St Anthony’s School at Kurseong, then United Kurseong Football Club, Lonestar Kashmir FC and the under-18 team of Prayag United Sports Club in Kolkata. He may take his charges tomorrow at Mohammedan SC.

Meanwhile Mohammedan Sporting club also signed 20 year old young forward Jaskaranpreet Singh for the upcoming season.

Gokulam Kerala FC appoint former Indian International NM Najeeb as reserve team coach.


15.11.20: Gokulam Kerala FC have appointed former Indian international player and State Bank of Travancore coach NM Najeeb as the reserve team coach for the upcoming season.
Gokulam Kerala FC have signed Afghan midfielder Sharif Mukhammad for the upcoming I-League Season.

Najeeb is known for his coaching stint with SBT during the bankers National Football League era. He has won a total of 42 trophies for the bankers while 12 players played under him got into the national team during his stint at the SBT.

As a player, he has played for East Bengal, Titanium and Mohammedans SC. He has also represented India a couple of times as a striker. He has also represented Kerala team in Santosh Trophy for six years.

After his playing career, he coached State Bank of Travancore for 15 years.

Gokulam Kerala FC have signed Afghan midfielder Sharif Mukhammad for the upcoming I-League Season.


13.11.20: The 30-year-old midfielder has played for top clubs in Russia and Sweden. His last stint was with Maziya, a Maldivian club. Born and brought up in Russia, Sharif started his football journey at the age of seven with the academy of Anzhi Makhachkala, a Russian Premier League club. He was promoted to their senior team and remained at his boyhood club for five years.

At Anzhi, he has played along with top footballers such as Roberto Carlos, Willian, and Samuel Eto. He later joined Spartak Nalchik, AFC Eskilstuna, and Maziya. In Maziya, he has played AFC Cup. Sharif is a regular starter for the Afghan National team and has made several appearances for them.

7.11.20: Mohammedan Sporting Club today confirmed the signing of young midfielder Faisal Ali ahead of the upcoming I-League season. Faisal played for Bhowanipore SC in recently concluded I-League Qualifier.

21 year old right winger, started his football career from CFL Premier A side Southern Samity. Later he joined Bhowanipore SC and played 2nd Division League and later I-League Qualifier.

6.11.20: Mohammedan Sporting club today announced the signing of forward Alen Deory. Alen played for Mumbai City FC couple of seasons.

24 year old forward started started his career with SAI (Sports Authority of India), before signing his first professional contract with Shillong Lajong FC where he played I-League as well as Shillong Premier League. Later he played for NorthEast United FC in Indian Super League. In 2018, Alen joined another Indian Super League side Mumbai City FC. In his Indian Super League career he played 8 matches so far.

He made his senior national team debut in the Hero Intercontinental Cup 2018, coming on as a substitute in a 5-0 win over Chinese Taipei.

GOKULAM KERALA FC SIGNED MIDFIELDER MAHIP ADHIKARI


6.11.20: Gokulam Kerala FC have signed young midfielder Mahip Adhikari. Mahip recently played for Garhwal FC in recently concluded I-League Qualifier.

The 22-year-old midfielder from Delhi was the vice-captain of Garhwal FC during their I-League Qualifiers. Mahip represented Delhi in the under-14 category. A graduate from Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools, he had represented them in the under-18 youth league before joining Garhwal Football Academy. He went on to play for their senior team. He has also represented his state Delhi in the Santosh Trophy held in the 2018-19 season.

“I am happy to be part of Malabarians football family and it is really encouraging to be scouted by an ILeague team. This is a major step for me and I will try my best to help the club. I am eagerly waiting to be at Kozhikode for training,” said Mahip in club media after signing the contract.

“During qualifiers, Mahip impressed us from the very first match. His track record was verified and it was found good. The transition from I League qualifiers to I-League will do a lot of good for this talented boy. We are sure that he will make use of the platform GKFC has given him to propel himself into professional football,” said Dr. B. Ashok Kumar, the CEO of Gokulam Kerala FC.

5.10.20: Mohammedan Sporting Club officially announces the joining of Jamal Bhuyan, the captain of Bangladesh national team. The Danish born midfielder is an experienced footballer played 44 international matches for Bangladesh national team since 2014. He also represented U-23 Bangladesh team before he was selected for the national team. Jamal Bhuyan is the first non-resident player to represent Bangladesh national side.

Jamal started his career for Danish club Brøndby IF at the age of 15 and later shifted to Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club of Bangladesh in 2014. It is a good deal won by Mohammedan Sporting club to sign Jamal Bhuyan in their favour prior to I League.

EDU BEDIA TO LEAD FC GOA IN ISL


4.10.20: FC Goa today announced the name of Edu Bedia as captain of the team which will going to participate in the forth coming Indian Super League. The Spanish midfeilder are associated with with FC Goa since 2017. Lenny Rodrigues will serve as the vice-captain of the team.

The longest-serving foreign player of FC Goa, Edu Bedia in his massage in club's website said, “I am grateful to my teammates for trusting me. It is a great honour for me to lead the team. I have always felt at home at FC Goa and have been loved by the people here. I take great pride in wearing the shirt and representing the Club. Now I will have an even bigger chip on my shoulders. 28 year old attacking midfielder started his footballing career at the Tata Football Academy in 2008 and won the Junior National Championship in his debut season. During his career he played for top clubs like Pailan Arrows, Dempo, Bengaluru FC, FC Pune City, Delhi Dynamos.
Alwyn George made 14 appearances so far in Indian Super League and made more than 80 appearances in the I-League.

Later in 2019-20 season he moved to Real Kashmir FC where he made 6 appearances in I-League. During his time with Minerva Punjab FC he played AFC Cup Qualifier as well as AFC Cup along with I-League and State leagues.

Britto PM won I-League with Mohun Bagan last season. During his last two season with Mohun Bagan he played 16 I-League matches. 27 year old Midfielder Britto will be reunited once again his Mohun Bagan team mates VP Suhair and Gurjinder Kumar here in NorthEast United.

25 year old attacking midfielder Imran Khan joined NorthEast United from I-League outfit NEROCA FC. He joined Mohun Bagan initially in last season, but later joined NEROCA due to more game times.

Sanjiban Ghosh played for Chennaiyin FC in the last two seasons. Starting his football career from Mumbai FC, 29 year old goalkeeper played for Delhi Dynamos, Jamshedpur FC before joining Chennaiyin FC.

23 year old defender Nabin Rabha played for Shillong Lajong FC in last two seasons. After starting his senior career with Fateh Hyderabad FC, he joined Shillong Lajong FC in 2018-19 season and made 14 appearances for the club.
