KENKRE FC , Mumbai will play in 2nd DIVN I-League 2010-11..

Araldite KENKRE FC blanked BMFC 3-0 in the Final of the I-League Division 2 Qualifier Maharashtra Club Championship. In a tight affair the deadlock was broken when Kenkre’s Charanjeet Singh volleyed in a Fransico Salin cross from the left wing.

The score remained 1-0 as the resolute Kenkre defence thwarted any chance created by the BMFC attack until the 85th min when substitute Taha Kachwalla settled the tie by latching on to a through pass and coolly laying it off for the incoming Mathew Odje to tap in. Taha wasn’t done there as he managed to grab his maiden goal of the tournament just minutes later and again Fransico Salin was the provider.

En route to the Final ARALDITE KENKRE FC topped their group by thrashing PTM (Kolhapur) 5-1, held by Deccan XI (Pune) 1-1 and beating Akbar Travels (Mumbai) 2-0 As a result of their triumph over BMFC, ARALDITE KENKRE FC have been crowed Maharashtra Club Champions and will thereby represent Maharashtra State in the upcoming I-League Division 2 Qualifiers to be held next year.

Goal of Maximizing the Sporting and Commercial Potential of Football in India from Grassroots to the Professional Level. The All India Football Federation (AIFF), the premier body governing the sport in India, announced that IMG Reliance, the joint venture between IMG Worldwide and Reliance Industries, has acquired all the commercial rights to football in India. The 15-year agreement, calls for IMG Reliance, in cooperation with the AIFF, to improve, popularize and promote the game of football throughout India, from the grassroots to the professional level.

Under the leadership of Mr. Praful Patel, AIFF is committed to develop football as one of the top sports in the country. Towards this goal, AIFF has decided to partner with IMG Reliance which has exposure and access to best global practices.

The agreement with AIFF grants IMG Reliance all commercial rights to football in India, including sponsorship, advertising, broadcasting, merchandising, film, video and data, intellectual property, franchising and new league rights. Recently, the AIFF amicably negotiated an early termination of their existing commercial arrangement with Zee Telefilms Limited. AIFF acknowledged the great contribution to the sport that Zee had made during their involvement.

The AIFF has also mandated IMG Reliance to develop the branding and marketing aspects related to national team, domestic competitions and participating teams. It would also look at scheduling, restructuring and reformatting of the domestic competitions. In addition, IMG Reliance plans to develop, operate and administer a new professional football league in the country. Through AIFF, IMG Reliance will also work with the member associations in developing these various proposals.

IMG Reliance and the AIFF will work together to develop Indian football talent, significantly impact the competitive level of the sport as well as attract high quality international players. This will include training facilities, modeled on IMG Academies in Bradenton, Florida, This agreement with the AIFF follows IMG Reliance's recent similar announcement of acquiring the commercial rights to basketball in India, in cooperation with the Basketball Federation in India.

“The AIFF has a vision for the sport of football in the country. Our engagement with IMG Reliance comes at a pivotal stage of this pursuit to enhance the quality of football and develop the sport across the country. IMG Reliance brings together an unparalleled advantage of the execution capabilities of Reliance and the global expertise in marketing and development of sports of IMG. We have shared our learnings of the past and agreed on the tasks in hand as we embark on this exciting journey with them,” said Praful Patel, President, AIFF.

Commenting on the development, Mrs. Nita Ambani, Member on the Board, IMG Reliance said, “As the youth of India make a mark in the global stage, we need to invest in developing platforms which can help our talent to realize their potential. IMG Reliance is committed towards developing these platforms and the tie-up with the All India Football Federation is a significant step in this direction. I am thankful to Shri. Praful Patel and all the senior office bearers at AIFF and it is a privilege to partner them in the joint pursuit of developing Indian football to its truest potential.”

"We are incredibly excited about the future of football in India,” said Ted Forstmann, Chairman and Chief Executive of IMG Worldwide. "It is the second most popular sport in the country with a massive and passionate fan following. The excitement and exuberance that was evident in the streets of the major cities in India during this year's World Cup, as well as the estimated 110 million Indian television viewers of the games, is a good indication of potential for future success.

With the cooperation and participation of the AIFF, IMG Reliance is committed to making football a commercially exciting and successful sport in India. In a country with a population of 1.2 billion people and incredibly talented athletes, it’s a realistic goal that India aims for a future World Cup berth. Together with our Indian Basketball deal, this gets IMG Reliance off to a fantastic start,” Forstmann concluded.

Sweet revenge of East Bengal against Super Cup Winner Dempo in I-League.

East Bengal continues their winning strike in the I-League. Though in their second I-League encounter of this season East Bengal registered another close win but they successfully registered their revenge of Super Cup defeat by defeating Dempo in Goa with 1-0 scoreline and Coach Morgan proves that like an ideal British Gentleman he is also a man of words as he keeps his promise of defeating Dempo which he made indirectly to the East Bengal supporters.

In the first half East Bengal definitely proved that they are the better side among the two teams but failed to make any change in the scoreline. Okpara got a chance to score from Mehtab Free Kick but Kattimani well saved Okpara's header in 28th minutes . Tolgey's shot hits the cross bar just after ten minutes and out. Robin singh got two chances to score but Katimani the keeper of Dempo saved both times.

In the 50th minutes of second half Tolgey scored the brilliant goal which finally kept the difference between both teams. Tolgey capitalized a misunderstanding situation between Dempo Stopper Dominic Noronha and Keeper Kattimani and lobbed the ball over Kattimani who was advancing to block him last minmute. Tolgey proves his worth by making the scoring his daily habit.

After conceding the goal Dempo tried hard to fight back in the match but all the attempts of the home side effectively denied by the well constructed East Bengal defense to secure full 3 points from the away encounter. In the dying minute of the match Referee denied a score of Ranty Martins due to offside offence. After the end of 2nd round East Bengal now have with 6 points while defending Champions Dempo with 1.

East Bengal keeper Sandip Nandy has been declared man of the match for his outstanding goal keeping.

East Bengal: Sandeep, Naoba, Okpara, Gurwinder, Soumik, Sanju (Sunil Kumar) , Mehtab, Sushant (Alvito), Penn (Ravinder), Robin, Tolgey.

Dempo: Kattimani, Debabrata, Dias, Noronha, Pixoto, Franco, Carvalho, Kalu, Borges, Cliffton, Ranty.

88': Ranty scored but Referee denied and said it was offside.

50':GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL..Tolgey scored for East Bengal. Got a ball from behind and placed the ball over Kattimani who was advancing from his place. A misunderstanding between Dempo stopper Dominic and Keeper Kattimani which used by clever Tolgey.

East Bengal played well in first half, attacked with two wings. Missed some goal scoring chances. Tolgey, Okpara and Robin Singh got chances to score but missed. Dempo Keeper Kattimani played well.

HAL thrash Mohun Bagan in I-League 2nd round match.
