MATCH REPORT: East Bengal entered the final of SK Kamal International football tournament. In Chittagong today Red and Gold crashed Mohammedan Sporting Club of Dacca by a margin of 3-0 in the second semifinal. This is East Bengal’s forth entry in an overseas tournament. In a packed M.A. Aziz stadium , East Bengal registered their 84 victory in 200 international outing , will clash against Abahani Club of Chittagong in the final on the 30th of October.

A brace my the Nigerian goal machine Ranty Martins in the 9th and 59th minute and a goal by Md Rafiq in the 48th minute did all the damage for the Dacca outfit. Mohammedan Sporting, Dacca, who qualified to play the AFC Cup had a torrid start but it was Red and Gold brigade who came in control of the proceedings against the run of play when Ranty converted at the early stages following a pass from Abhinash Ruidas from the left. It was an equal of exchanges in the first session as both the teams had the chances of converting.

The second session was entirely dominated by East Bengal as Md Rafiq and Ranty Martins increased the score sheet in favor of East Bengal. East Bengal could have increased the margin if Orok Orok and Ranty Martins converted some easy opportunities. It was an impressive performance by the young East Bengal Brigade in the competition in absence of thirteen regular footballers while Ranty Martins regained his touch.

Records prevail that East Bengal were the champions in the last three occasions when they qualified to play the final in an overseas tournament . The other three occasions were Wai Wai cup in 1993, Asean Cup 2003 and San Miguel Cup in 2004. East Bengal are just a match away to touch the magic figure and repeat the history.

They reached the last four on merit and there is no question of taking them lightly as this is the knock out stage.”

Do Dong Hume reached Chittagong this morning after recovering his injury. The Korean midfielder is likely to be included in the final eleven as Biswajit Bhattacharjee are desperately looking for a leader in the upfront. KEB : Dibyendu, Biswajit, Deepak, Bello, Samad Ali, Jagannath, Subodh, Pralhad, Md Rafiq, Orok Orok. Ranti.

MATCH REPORT :East Bengal Club entered the semi final of Sk Kamal International football tournament. At Chittagong today East Bengal ended goal less against Abahani Kriachakra of Dacca and emerged as the champion with 7 points from Group B will play the semi final on the 28th of October.
A spectacular performance by Dibyendu Sarkar , the young goal keeper helped Red and Gold to save their citadel against the Dacca outfit at the M.A.Aziz stadium. In an entirely dominated proceeding Dibyedu Sarkar saved a series of positive opportunities of Abhahani Kriachakra. In fact Dibyendu came as a barrier in between denying the advancing Ahahani strikers in the entire ninety minutes. He was rightly awarded as the “Man Of the Match".

East Bengal remained unbeaten in the Group League matches as they won against Abahani Club of Chittagong [2-1] and Karachi Electric [3-1]. It is rather an inexperienced and young East Bengal side, that proved to be impressive so far in the tournament. But, East Bengal are in search of leader in the attacking force in the knockout stages in absence of Do Dong Hume who is suffering from an injury and returned to Kolkata for treatment.
