02.05.2015: 1st Open Penalty Shoot- out Tournament organized by Prodigies Group. 2015

Team New Market re-asserting

05.05.2015 - Press Release: Xavier Rutsa : New Market Football team jinx continued till 2nd May, 2015 ,as it again lost the match on a penalty shoot-out. Though this it-self was a penalty shoot-out tournament.

New Market (B) or for that matter New Market Football Team, however could be on podium this time round by getting the runner-up position in 1st Open Penalty Shoot- out Tournament, 2015, organized by Prodigies Group. The team walk home with Rs. 20,000 and also with Seketuozo Pienyu of New Market (B) adjusted the best Goal Keeper of the tournament.

Records available with the writer inform that last time New Market team getting to podium count was in 2011. So it was after a gap of four years the team is in the count in the history sheet for roll of honour in a tournament. With no-financial backing from government and even corporate houses. Needless to say- hardly there are any corporate presence in the state. The team survived all odds to remain as a cohesive team New Market by taking part in various tournament tin capital city Kohima.

The silver-lining is that the community from the colony/ward/ area-whatever- we called is the biggest supporters of the team, while the denizens on its part do come out in support the team with physically, financially and morally as and when required. The structure how the Team is run. The New Market Sports Committee appointed or selected by New Market Youth Organization runs the affairs of the team. With no-funding, the sports committee usually raising fund organize a lottery 'raffle draw' to take care the needs of the team while talking part in the various football tournament in state capital.

Today the team is in its 38 years of existence and is one of the oldest surviving football clubs of Nagaland. New Market Football team, Kohima established in 1977 following its participation in Sir C.R Pawsey Trophy. Since then, the team has been consistently participating in all the major tournaments organized in the district and State. The team has been a sprint board which provided many players the opportunity to represent the State team, which has brought many laurels to the State.

It is also to be mentioned that few players had even represented the Country and also have found prominence in the top football clubs of our country. The New Market team over three decades of holistic football experiences, be it participation or management, speaks volumes about the credentials and reputation of the New Market Football team.

IG Girls team heads on with Men team lost 0-6

16.07.2015: They lost the match today at the 1st Futsal (Five aside) championship, organized by Rüziezou Colony Youth (RCY) , but the Indira Gandhi (IG) Girls Team on Thursday captured the attention of futsal funs gathered at D. Khel ground, Seikhazou, Kohima Village.

Indira Gandhi Girls Team lost 0-6 to Turaco, Kohima Science College in the first round match, however left an imprint in the soccer history of Nagaland and a memory to cherish in their life time.

Organizer and crowds were appreciated that them (girls team) taking part in the championship.

IG stadium Administrator Teisobou Sekhose, when contacted on phone, expressed happiness that the Girls team was taking part in a championship. 'The girls were happy to play with male counterpart, he stated, adding 'It was a good experience and exposure for the players'.

Currently there are 32 players in the IG Girls Academy, run by Nagaland department o Youth Resources and Sports, while ten players were selected amongst them to take on the male team.

A lady spectator commented that ""the girls did not play very good today and they were feeling uncomfortable playing with boys""

The german womens national team played a boys under17 after winning the worldcup. They played about 3 x 15 minutes and the boys (15/16 yr olds) won clearly 3-0. Some days later the german womens junior national team (under21) played a boys under15 team. And i'm realy amazed the junior women lost against the 13/14 yr olds 2-0.

The India U-16 boys who are presently training at the IMG Academy in Florida defeated the US Women's Senior National 4-0 in an exhibition match on 2nd week of January 2012. Lalransanga scored a brace while Lalramuana and Uttam Rai scored one apiece. Goalkeeper Supratim Bhattacharya midfielder Siddharth and Allen Deory strikers Uttam Rai and Lalramsanga well displayed.
.

Can't imagine that 13/14 yr old boys beating average 20 old national junior teams players could be a question of physical differences. Any suggestion?
