20.06.2018 - AIFF PRESS RELEASE : The All India Football Federation’s League Committee met at the AIFF Headquarters in the capital today (June 20, 2018) to discuss topics concerning the Hero I-League, AIFF Youth Leagues and the 2nd Division League.The League Committee was chaired by AIFF’s Senior Vice President Mr. Subrata Dutta and all members of the committee were present in the meeting.

+++++ It was proposed by the Committee to start the Hero I-League in the third week of October. The Committee also proposed to send a circular to all Hero I –league clubs, regarding of basic infrastructure requirements for live telecast of Hero I-League matches. The individual clubs will have to get the infrastructure of the venue ready by mid September as per the circular.

+++++ It was also stated, that the Hero I-League will continue during the AFC Asian Cup but matches will not be held on dates that India plays.

+++++ Regarding the foreign player rule, the committee decided to keep the regulations same as last year and abolish the rules governing the Asian player quota. Teams can now sign any six foreign players without signing any Asian quota player in the 2018-19 season.

+++++ However, from 2019-20 season of the Hero I-League the foreign player registration will be reduced to a maximum five. The committee also decided that the AIFF will pay Rs 45lakhs as the subsidy to Hero I-League teams for participation.

+++++ Regarding the AIFF Youth Leagues, the committee was apprised about the suggestions of the Special Committee meeting held in Mumbai on June 07, 2018 regarding age verification of players in the U-13 and U-15 Youth League category.

+++++ The AIFF League Committee agreed to the suggestions made by the Special Committee, suggested preparation of entire protocol document, and place it to appropriate committee of AIFF for necessary approval.

+++++ The Committee decided to not approve multiple teams with the same owners to play in the AIFF Youth Leagues with the exception of Sports Authority of India (SAI) teams. live score

08.06.2018 - CYL PRESS RELEASE : A festive atmosphere with more than 300 spectators made the perfect stage for the finale of Chandigarh Youth League Season 2 held at Minerva Punjab FC grounds in Mohali today. Vivek FC 1, Vivek FC 2, MGFC, Doaba FC and Soldiers FC were crowned champions of TriCity in the U-10, U-12, U-14, U-16 and 16+ categories respectively.

Team trophies and individual medals along with trophies and prizes for Golden Boot, Golden Glove, Most Valuable Player, Best Coach and FairPlay Team award were also presented in each age group. The grand finale kicked off with the final of the U-16 age group between Doaba FC and Rebel FC. Both teams came onto the field with desire to win the trophy. Though the match ended in a 0-0 draw, the winner was decided by penalties where Doaba FC got the better of the Rebel FC boys.

Earlier during the day Soldiers FC (U-16) defeated VHS Acadmey to bag the 2nd runners up position. Aryan of Rebel FC bagged the Golden Boot and Kapil of Soldiers FC (U-16) bagged the Golden Glove in the U-16 age group. Tegh Brar of Vivek FC was awarded Most valuable player in the U-16 category.

PIFA PRESS RELEASE 01.06.2018 : The PIFA Champions Tour 2018 was held in the suburbs of Barcelona. May 14 -23, 2018. The 39th tour in 15 years. Taking over 900 young players from India.

Twenty four boys & three girls participated in this exciting 10-day football camp. The campers came from Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad & Hyderabad. These camps do not require any selection, anyone that wants to improve their skills, experience European football training and lifestyle is welcome to join this tour.

The campers were trained every day by UEFA Pro Coaches Mr Manolo Marquez, head coach of Division 1 – Las Palmas and Mr Francesc D'Asis Bosch Farres. The senior campers played a friendly against the local U19 champions Sant Miquel D’Olerdola CF, while the Junior campers played Escola De Futbol Vila Franca U15 team.

The campers also celebrated the AFC Grassroot day with fun and challenging games. The campers got to meet Borris Garros, a striker from the oldest Spanish Club Recreativo Huelva, who shared his experience of what it took him to play competitive football in Spain. The campers got a tour of Barcelona City, Sitges a fishing town and Vila Franca. They also visited the FC Barcelona Stadium Camp Nou and Museum.

The highlight of this tour was watching the last La Liga match of the 2017-18 season between FC Barcelona and Real Sociedad (1-0, Coutinho) at Camp Nou. It was also the farewell game for captain Andrés Iniesta, the match was followed by a farewell speech by Iniesta, followed by a party to lift up their 25th La Liga Trophy. live score
