Never before in Indian football has a woman referee been assigned to officiate in a senior national-level men’s match. Bentla D'Coth, another woman referee from Kerala, was assigned a Santosh Trophy match in Kerala five years ago but she was the fourth official there.

Maria's first National level refering test was during the U-19 nationals six weeks ago in Kolkata when she officiated in the match between Uttarakhand and Mizoram at the Yuba Bharati Krirangan watched by assessor Pirom Ansapret of Thailand.

Previously, she officiated in U-19, U-2l, third division, second division, inter-district, Kamataka league (which has mostly players who are playing for Elite A league from outside), women's national qualifying round and WIFA Elite League.

Maria hails from Curtorim, a village which has produced, some of the state and country's great football players like Anthony Rebello,(ex Salgaocar) Leopoldo Fernandes (Salgaocar manager), Armando Colaco(coach Dempo), Cyril Rodrigues(Sesa Goa), Roberto ernandes(Salgoacar ), Roy Barreto(Salgoacar), Alex Rebello(sesa Goa)and Joaquim Gurija.(EX mahindra Dempo, Salgoacar, Vasco).

She was also a good women Football of goa and Indian team also. captained the national women’s squad and played for India six times as a midfielder in the 1990. Two of her brothers played for the top clubs in Mumbai and Goa.

I was alloted ticket for the FIFA World Cup 2010 final match at South Africa (Category 3, Row R, Seat 18). Seat No. 20 was occupied by Mr. Ankur Dutta, Vice President of AIFF.

However, to our astonishment, seat No. 17 and 19 (which were also allotted for AIFF) were occupied by foreigners, not associated at all with AIFF and they informed us that they had purchased these tickets at a premium. The entire episode shows Indian Football in bad light besides tarnishing the image of AIFF.

You are requested to investigate into the matter at the earliest and take appropriate steps to deal with the offenders. We hope that AIFF will deal with the issue in a professional manner and maintain transparency, otherwise we would be forced to inform FIFA and AFC about this incident.

CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation) the organization has been searching for the next man to head the National team. Muricy Ramalho has been asked by the CBF to become Brazil's newest manager . Federation president Ricardo Teixeira says Ramalho told him he wanted to coach the national team and agreed with its plan for the 2014 World Cup

But it has been learn that, Fluminense refused to release Ramalho due to his full contract with the club upto 2012. Fluminence club president Roberto Horcades told reporters that "Muricy is going to continue at Fluminense, fulfilling his contractual commitments,".

If Ramlho rejects the top offer then CBF has been invited Sao Paulo Club Corinthians coach Mano Menezes to be the coach the Brazilian soccer team. Menezes, the coach of Sao Paulo club team Corinthians, will announce his decision on Saturday, Brazil's soccer federation says.

Ramalho was a dangerous striker in the 1970s and 1980s at Sao Paulo and with Puebla in Mexico. After ending his playing career in 1993, he began his career as trainer at Puebla, then moved on to become co-trainer at Sao Paulo. He was voted the best coach in the Brazilian football league for four straight years 2005-2008. Reports said that it was Teixeira himself who proposed him for the national trainer post.

Ramalho currently tops the Brasileirao Serie A with his Fluminense side, and is highly rated in domestic football. He had previously won three national titles with Sao Paulo in consecutive years in 2006, 2007 and 2009.

Children from India enrolled for this exclusive camp to Barcelona. The campers were accommodated and trained at a luxurious mountain resort & spa in Barcelona. Various FC Barcelona teams use these fantastic facilities to break away from their routine training regime. The camp was specially designed for Indian children to understand the Catalonian culture and the history of FC Barcelona which is undoubtedly the most successful football club in Europe at the moment.

The children were taken on a tour of the FC Barcelona training facility - Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. They had the privilege to see FC Barcelona team train and later met them. The facilities boast of 5 grass pitches, 4 artificial grass pitches and 3 gymnasiums amongst other facilities. By next year they will have a residential facility to house their youth teams.

After the visit of the training facility they were taken for a city tour of Barcelona which included a visit to La Sagrada Família (church), Palace Espanya, Palace Catalunya, the Olympic stadium and finally a tour of Nou Camp in the evening.

At Nou Camp they got to see all the six trophies won in one season (2009) - La Liga, Copa del Rey, Supercopa de España, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup at the Museum. They also got a tour of the pitch and saw the stands displaying Barcelona's motto, "Més que un club," meaning "More than a club"

The following day, the children were taken back to Nou Camp to watch their favorite players - Messi, Iniesta, Henry, Ibrahimovic, Bojan, Xavi, Pedro, Alves, Yaya, Pique from FC Barcelona play Valladolid along with over 100,000 supporters. The children got to see the tiki taka style of football as they effortlessly won 4-0. After the match the children were treated to a spectacular fire work display and felicitation ceremony of Josep Guardiola’s team as they won their 20th La Liga title by finishing with 99 points just 3 points ahead of their rival Real Madrid who finished on 96 points on the very last day.

The children trained for 8 days for 5 hours on artificial grass pitch. They played two friendly matches with the local teams. On the final day, the children were presented with a participation certificate, football and memorabilia of FC Barcelona.

The group was accompanied by two adults from India ensuring that the children totally focus on football and enjoy themselves. The next camp to Europe will be again to Barcelona. The proceeds of these camps are utilised to develop teams from the PIFA community football project undertaken by NGO - PIFA Foundation for benefit of sports.

The technical subcommittee of the Association Board,approved the plan at a meeting held in Cardiff, Wales. The system was tested in UEFA Cup ( Europa Legue cup) last season, which placed an assistant referee behind each goal line. The Champions League already under way, additional assistant referees will be introduced in the play-off phase, starting on August 17, which follows the third qualifying round.

The Champions League and UEFA Super Cup were added this season and IFAB has been approved for a total of nine competitions including France's League Cup, Brazil's Rio de Janeiro Championship and Asia's President's Cup club tournament.
