It is expected that whosoever be inducted to the post will have to be extremely proactive and use his rich corporate experience to bring some amount of professionalism and consistency in the day to day affairs of Indian football’s apex body.

Meanwhile, Indian national team coach Bob Houghton has disagreed to his side playing international friendly matches against a few African teams. This has put the AIFF top brass into a spot of bother as North Korea has declined to make a trip to Delhi. As of now only two friendly matches against Thailand on home-and-way basis is finalized. Initially, AIFF had scheduled matches in Delhi against North Korea, Namibia, Gambia and Turkmenistan.

Houghton feels that playing against the big-bodied Africans will not be good for the team’s cause as the Asia Cup matches will be against the teams from Asia. Turkmenistan, an Asian country was bypassed by Houghton on the plea that the team was even weaker than ours. The AIFF will be taking a final decision on the issue only after Colaco’s talks with Bob Houghton.
