120th DURAND CUP - 2007

VISIT PAST & LAST YEAR'S WINNER Durand Cup, the oldest football tournament in India, is the 3rd oldest football tournaments in the world, after the English FA-Cup and the Scottish FA-Cup. Sir Mortimer Durand, started the Durand Cup football tournament in Shimla in 1898. Since Independence, Mohun Bagan (16) and East Bengal (15) Club Of Kolkata have won 31 times. In this year the120th edition of the tournament, Three Kolkata giants football teams East Bengal,Mohun Bagan and Mohammedan Sporting have decided to skip the cup due to their commitments to the Kolkata Premier Divn. football league organised by IFA. For the first time in the history of the tournament, floodlights will be used for the main draw matches at the Ambedkar Stadium. Though the Kolkata clubs will be missed, there will be 8 NFL teams from 1st Div. and 4 from the second division in action in the Tournament and these 12 NFL teams which have been directly seeded in the pre-quarterfinals.The Teams Are: Goa clubs: Dempo SC, Salgaocar SC, Sporting Clube de Goa and Churchill Brothers Mumbai Clubs: Mahindra United and Air India Punjab Club: JCT Mills Kerala Club: Viva Kerala 2nd Divn NFL Teams:HAL, Punjab Police, TFA and Army XI,ONGC Other Teams New Delhi Heros,Bihar Regimental Centre,Gorkha Rifels,Hindusthan F.C,SAIL,Assam Regimental center,Amity United F.C,City F.C-Delhi,Corps of Signal-Goa,BSF-Jalandhar, Garwals Heros-Delhi,Jammu & kashmir Bank,Oil India Ltd -Duliajan,Assam Rifels- Tezpur,Navy XI -Kochi,Indian Air Force-Delhi ,Indian nationals F.C-Delhi,Simla Youngs -Delhi.
