NAGALAND POLICE WIN 3-0 AGAINST GIDEON FC in OPENING MATCH

Nagaland Commissioner and Secretary for Land Resources Development Menokhol John today encouraged the youths to take any of their selected sports activities to keep themselves fit and healthy to live a better life in society.

Inaugurating the 18th Classic Cup Football Championship at the Kohima Local Ground this afternoon with the theme "Football for Health," Mr. John appealed to youths to take up their selected sports to show and hone their talents, not only to keep themselves physically fit, but also to bring laurels for the state and the country. He also appealed various voluntary organization and NGOs to give opportunity to increase their talents by organizing various kinds of sports.

Mr. John also appreciated the Classic Club of Kohima for arranging the tournament to give opportunity to the local football talents. He said that the Classic Club, not only a sports organizer, but also extends services in various social activities, which has help the society to a great extent. He appealed the members of the Classic Club to keep up their spirit of dedication and devotion to the benefit of the masses.

Earlier, Classic Club President Zakiekhotuo Kiso welcomed the guests and informed that altogether 38 teams have participated in the Championship.

In the inaugural match Nagaland Police thrashed the Gideon Football Club by 3 to nil.
